Team Relay Race
Brighton Marina has hosted The Brighton Triathlon since 1990, it provides a fantastic location for the sport. With the swim taking place in the inner harbour of the marina it is the perfect location for all standards of triathlete.
For the novice it offers calm stream fed water that isn't affected by the weather making it in effect a very large swimming pool.

For the experienced competitor the calm water allows for fast times and great racing. An out and back course brings you back to the Ancasta yacht sales area where you will be exiting amongst some very expensive and impressive boats.
The cycle is challenging. Heading out along the coast road past the renowned Roedean school before winding its way up through Ovingdean farm village, on up to the Sussex downs and along the edge of Brighton Race course. A long fast decent back towards the Mariana completes the all left turn circuit back onto the coast road- -ready for a second lap.
The run is then fast flat and scenic. A straightforward out and back along the under cliff walk that links the Marina to Rottingdean, you can either gaze out to sea or keep track of your progress against the other competitors-depending on how well you are doing. This is a great race for the "been there done that and got the t shirt [there is no t shirt] triathlete". It is one you can come back to year on year and enjoy consistent racing without some of the normal triathlon issues-
NO PRE RACE REGISTRATION- register on the morning
NO DRAFTING ISSUES- the hills see to that
NO CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS- there are only two waves heading off within 5 minutes of each other {vets, women, relay and an open race.}
NO NEED TO COUNT- beyond 2 that is
